Wit: Jacob Higginbotham Sr., John Upshaw, Leroy Upshaw, Fracis Satterwhite.
In 1811, returns annexed to will, show that distribution was made to Benjamin,
Peter, Larkin and William Higginbotham, and to James Rowsey. Alson in 1811,
Francis was appointed guardian of Mary Higginbotham; John S. Higginbotham was
appointed guardian of Peter and Larkin Higginbotham. Charles Carter and John
Han provided security.

According to Geneal. Abstracts of Rev War Pension Files, Benj. Higginbotham, a
nephew of James Higginbotham, in 1832 at the age of 75, gave a statement in the
pension application of James' children, that he Benj. had served in the rev war
at the same time as James. If this is true and this is the same Benjamin, then
he could not have died in Georgia in 1810.
Rev. War Pension - S5542 - Va line, sol was b in 1757 in Amherst Co., Va and he
lived there at enl and he appl there 17 September 1832, he had srv under a
Capt. Samuel Higginbotham.
