On the 1850 census, Sarah is listed in the house of Nancy Boyce and her
children. Nancy appears to be a widow, and Sarah may be a relative.

Robert Craig 1794-1875 was the son of Wm. Craig and the grandson of the
Revolutionary soldier John Craig and Thomas Logan of Laurens County, South
Carolina. Robert Craig was Uncle and guardian of John Boyce Craig 1834-1903
and his sister Sarah Jane Craig who married Dorsey L Gary, informant Henry Cox,
grandson of John Boyce Craig. Sarah lived to be 101 years old.

Notes:

Christian Mag: 6 Jan 1848; Departed this life on Little River, Fairfield Dist.,
S.C., on the morning of the Sabbath, 5 Dec last, Mrs. Mary Ann Boyce, the wife
of the Rev. James Boyce, in her 33rd year. Leaving many relatives, a husband,
and 4 children, the youngest of whom commenced its earthly pilgrimage but 3
hours previous to its mothers death.

Marriage: at the residence of the brides father on Thursday, 16th inst, by the
Rev. James Boyce D.D.M., W.S. Brice and Mattie Simmons of Fairfield.

1850: James children are found on the 1850 census being cared by the wife of
William Logan Craig (Nancy "Ann" Craig) and her daughter Sarah J. Craig (17)
after the death of James's wife Mary Ann Boyce passed away.

James 'Jim', built his home in front of the Pine Hall Presbyterian Church,
previously known as 'Dalton's Chapel', because James donated the land for the
Church and cemetery. James was a Magistrate, Justice of the Peace in Stokes
County. He was sometimes called Squire or Square Dalton. James was also a 'jack
of all trades'. As a carpenter he built furniture, he also served as a Miller
and Blacksmith.

tion by Double Springs Church, serving for 3 years. Preached for the 'arm' of
Double Springs Church. Served as Pastor of Double Springs Church and Spring
Valley Church. In 1893 he was living at home in Dido, Choctaw Mississippi.

John moved to Effingham Co., Ga. in late 1780's. On 13 Jun 1798, was granted
200 acres in Effingham Co. His brother James, stayed with him for about two
years, then returned to Richland Co. S.C.

John was a Revolutionary War soldier. Served in the South Carolina Militia,
Richland Dist. as did Benjamin, Richard, William and George, brothers of John.
Also, Gilbert and David Rawlinson served in the Continental Line, from South
Carolina.
